KATY PERRY & NICKI MINAJ CLOSE VMAS WITH ‘SWISH SWISH’

Katy Perry didn’t just host the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday (Aug. 27). She also closed the event with a performance of “Swish Swish” and an assist from Nicki Minaj.

Launching the performance on top of a giant basketball, the pop songstress hit the stage with a team of dancers dressed in nets, basketball shorts, and heels before Barbie joined in on the b-ball fun in a latex referee outfit.

Perry then ended the set with basketball balloons falling from the rafters. Gliding through the air, Katy landed on an enormous basketball hoop before slamming the ball down and ending the show. It was the culmination of a track that’s centered around b-ball and its recently-released humorous video, which did the same.

The Witness songstress was nominated for tracks like “Feels,” “Chained to the Rhythm,” and “Bon Appétit” but she wound up going home empty-handed when the night was over.

Next month, Katy is set to kick off her “Witness World Tour” in Montreal on Sept. 19. From there, the trek is set to travel the globe through Aug. 23 in Auckland, New Zealand.

Put another one in the basket with Perry and Nicki below.
