Fat Joe takes “TRL” “All the Way Up.”
Wrapping up the show’s revival premiere week, Don Cartagena took the Times Square stage with a medley of bangers, featuring Dre from Cool & Dre.
First, the Bronx rapper started things off with “All the Way Up.” Fans waved their hands in the air, while the Terror Squad boss performed the track. Unfortunately, Remy couldn’t make it, but Dre provided ad-libs.
Next, Joey Crack launched into his new single “So Excited,” which features Dre. Together, the longtime collaborators went back and forth on the outdoor platform, which has already been graced by Migos, Playboi Carti, and Lil Yachty.
Beyond performing, Fat Joe also judged an “All the Way Up” remix game, giving the prize to a young rapper who dissed President Donald Trump while calling for donations to Puerto Rico.
Speaking of donations, Joey Crack also opened up about his relief efforts on the “TRL” platform. “Everybody got together with a joint effort, and we raised 2 million pounds [of supplies],” he said. “We got five planes going out but we gotta fill up another five.”
Don Cartagena, who recently collaborated with an all-star cast of artists on “Almost Like Praying for Puerto Rico,” also said he is going to Puerto Rico this weekend, in an effort to see his family.
