Will 50 Cent finally drop his next album this year? According to the G-Unit mogul, who hasn’t released an LP since 2014’s Animal Ambition, the answer is yes.

After getting props from Eminem and dissing JAY-Z’s 4:44, Fiddy announced that a new album is on the way.

“I have an album that I’ve been waiting to put out,” he said during an “Access Hollywood Live” interview. “It’ll be [out at] the end of the year. It won’t be as smart as the JAY-Z record. I wanted to make music that people have fun to. You can get it immediately, without having to sit and analyze.”

It’s unclear whether this next project is Street King Immortal, an album that 50 has been promoting since at least 2012. Last year, he said that he wants to finish his career with SKI. “I don’t want to write another record after that,” he said at the time. “You know how some artists got to have confirmation that they’re right. I have that confirmation in f*cking 35, 40 million [albums] that I already sold.”

Earlier this month, Fif called Hov’s 4:44 “golf course music” and “too smart.” Clarifying the statement on “Access Hollywood Live,” 50 added: “I said it was good; it was just too smart. I think you do gotta kinda dumb down the material to fit into what the culture is producing. Now, it’s a little more melody-driven. It’s not as sophisticated as it was when I first came in. I guess there’s a place for it.”
