NORTH KOREA: Kim Jong-un's top diplomat said the only nuclear threat to the world is the US

Kim Jong-un’s top diplomat Ja Song Nam warned Pyongyang would never give up nuclear weapons until the US does the same.

War fears have been rising between the US and North Korea as a fiery threats were exchanged between Donald Trump and Kim.

The North denied it is a “global threat” and instead pointed the finger at Washington in yesterday’s session of the UN.

Both sides have been threatening the other, as North Korea warned of “nuclear holocaust” for both the US and South Korea.

Kim’s man told the UN: "The US is the one and only country in this world that massacred hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians by using nuclear weapons in the real war.”

North Korean state media printed Mr Ja’s speech, adding the rogue nation would “never flinch even an inch” from their pursuit of nukes.

The diplomat even backed the proposed Nuclear Weapon Ban Treaty – but said they would reject it until nukes are given up by the US.

He said Kim’s nuclear weapons are a “legitimate self defensive measure” – despite carrying out illegal test and attempting to intimidate their 

 neighbours South Korea and Japan.

he diplomat said: "No other country in this world has been exposed to the US nuclear threat for a long time, directly with intensity as much as the DPRK.

"To all intents and purposes, the nuclear issue on the Korean peninsula was spawned and developed into the present phase today because of the US and, accordingly, the blame for it is entirely on the US."

He added the US faces “severe punishment” if it attempts to use military action to stop North Korea.

Kim believes obtain nuclear weapons will secure his rule and allow him to put further pressure on the US and UN for aide.

The rogue state has carried out a string of missile tests this year – including firing two weapons over Japan – and also detonated a H-bomb.

US President Trump has repeatedly blasted the hermit kingdom, threatening to “totally destroy” them.
