VIDEO: FERGIE – ‘A LITTLE WORK’

                              Fergie

After finally releasing Double Dutchess, Fergie continues her onslaught of new videos from the project with “A Little Work.”

The latest clip from the Seeing Double visual experience stars Lotus Love and Fergie’s son, Axl Jack, in an 11-minute Jonas Åkerlund-directed video that is filled with symbolism.

Dressed in a glittery ensemble, the former Black Eyed Peas frontwoman opens the video with a strut through Hollywood into an abandoned, graffiti-filled church. “I got to a point where I was seeing devils everywhere,” she explains. “Devil faces.”

But the clip continues from there, with a barrage of images that depict her as a nurse and an agitated patient, locked inside of a padded cell, where pills fly through the air. In between scenes, Fergie narrates the story by revealing that she’s always been a writer, while dealing with ups and downs.

Multi-layered and quickly shifting, the clip continues with Fergie as a frustrated single parent fielding eviction notices and bills, and a strapped in patient at the center of an explosion-filled battlefield.

Following the chaotic scenes that unfold, including a funeral service, Fergie walks out of the church with her son by her side, explaining the value of happiness. “When I honor my true self and honor that part of me that is that magic, that’s when I am at that place that I can call happy,” she says. “I can feed that love outward, not only to friends and to my parents and to my sister, but now to my husband and my little boy.”

Fergie —who recently filed for divorce from husband Josh Duhamel following 8 years of marriage — has been dropping pieces of the Seeing Double visual experience, including “Enchanté (Carine),” “Save It Til Morning,” “Just Like You,” and previously-unleashed clips like “You Already Know,” “Hungry,” and “L.A.LOVE (la la).”
