GUCCI MANE’S BOOK SIGNING INTERRUPTED BY ANIMAL RIGHTS ACTIVISTS

Gucci Mane’s book signing at a New York Barnes & Noble was interrupted by animal rights activists on Tuesday (Sept. 19).

During the release day meet-and-greet for The Autobiography of Gucci Mane, Guwop was approached by an activist, who had been posing as a fan. “Word on the street is that you thinking of going vegan,” he said. “But you can’t be vegan if you keep wearing that fur!”

After shaking Gucci’s hand, the man was joined by a woman. Together, they chanted “Shame on Gucci, animal abuser,” while being escorted out. Meanwhile, DropTopWop stood calmly while his security swiftly took action.

Taking to Instagram after the signing, Gucci thanked fans for their support and did not mention the incident. “Off probation today and my book is in stores NOW! What a day,” he wrote, adding, “On jet headed to tour in Ohio leaving NYC thanks NYC for showing love and supporting me at book signing.”

Gucci isn’t the only one who’s been approached by activists during a book signing. In April, anti-fur protesters interfered with Kelly Rowland during her meet-and-greet for Whoa, Baby!
