Jhené Aiko is taking her fans on a journey with the release of her sophomore album TRIP 17.

The R&B songstress revealed the title of her long-awaited LP, along with a stunning photo captured by Jen Senn, in the September/October 2017 issue of Playboy.

“It’s inspired by every type of trip you could imagine: mental, physical, even psychedelic,” explained Aiko. “I’m at a point where I put it all in the music. It’s a puzzle I want people to put together.”

Aiko has reportedly been crafting the project in Hawaii. In June, she released the single “While We’re Young” and its 50 First Dates-inspired video. Shortly after, she followed it up with her Chris Brown collaboration, “Hello Ego (Don’t Stop).”

TRIP 17, which has been described as a map, marks Jhené’s first full-length studio album since 2014’s Souled Out. The project is still awaiting a release date.

“I would say that it is way more than music and way more than anything I’ve ever done before,” she told Billboard earlier this year. “I’ve been working on it for a few years now, since I put out my mixtape, so I think people will just appreciate all of the effort, work, and time that I put into it. I really like to take my time and make sure that it’s a true representation of me and what I’ve been through. It’s way more than music. It’s like an art project that I’ve been working on that I can’t wait to share.”

Aside from her solo material, Aiko is also teaming up with her beau Big Sean for a second TWENTY88 project.
